Convert SRDF/S to SRDF/Metro or SRDF/Metro to SRDF/S
Symmetrix Remote Data Facility (SRDF) facilitates the data replication from one storage array to another through a storage area network or Internet Protocol (IP) network.
About this task
This procedure explains how to convert the mode of operation for an SRDF configuration. The following scenarios are supported for the mode conversion:
- SRDF/S R1-R2 Device Pair to SRDF/Metro R1-R2 Device Pair while replication is synchronized or suspended.
- SRDF/Metro R1-R2 Device Pair to SRDF/S R1-R2 Device Pair while replication is active/active or active/bias.
Cascaded and concurrent topologies are supported in line with current SRDF/Metro support.
Existing SRDF/Metro configuration restrictions apply when converting from SRDF/S to SRDF/Metro.
